Hanon Shop once again worked with New Balance on a collaboration. For now there areno images of the final product available, we only know that the collection will belabeled "Hanon Flying Club" and it will be released some time in July.
"Following our previous collaboration with New Balance, we have looked again to expand the boundaries of material applications on some of our favourite running shoes. This time round we have sourced a superior old school technical fabric by British company Ventile.
Ventile is a densely woven, 100% cotton all weather material. It originated in the 1930’s and came to prominence in World War II where it was manufactured especially for flying suits due to it’s unique waterproofing properties. Throughout the years ventile has developed into a superior performance fabric and as well as a continued military association it has also provided outerwear protection for the likes of explorers Sir Ranulph Fiennes during expeditions of the Antarctic and Mount Everest.
The Flying Club harks back to the early New Balance silhouettes of yester year. Comprising of two models, each has a fully customised upper and features detailing that is unique to this release only. We have drawn influence from the simple aesthetic of the 70’ and 80’s and have reintroduced some of the old school touches we felt would reflect and compliment the heritage of ventile.
Both the Ventile fabric and footwear are made in the United kingdom and are assembled with the finest materials sourced worldwide. Special features include a single piece N, vintage bound and unbagged mesh tongue, aged EVA midsole unit, bespoke tongue label, old school cotton laces and original polyurethane collar lining."
